On January 10th, Governor Newsom released his State Budget Proposal for 2023 - 2024. The proposal includes new investments for arts education and a cut to the one-time Arts, Music & Instructional Materials Discretionary Block Grant. Create CA recognizes the difficult decisions required to close a projected $22.5 billion budget deficit. We thank Governor Newsom for prioritizing students and remain optimistic about the future of arts education funding in California.
